Sinus Iridum (Bay of Rainbows) is a lava plain north of the Mare Imbrium, bounded by the Montes Jura and lying between Promontorium Heraclides and Promontorium Laplace.
The Copernicus crater, 96 kilometers in diameter, features a terraced inner wall and three central peaks; further north lies the Montes Carpatus range, with a maximum height of 2,400 meters.
